The American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI) in Washington, D.C. holds a panel discussion entitled "Prices, Poverty, and Inequality: Why Americans Are Better Off Than You Think." Speakers will discuss how the consumer price index may be a misleading source of information about poverty and real wages since it does not consider the impact of new and better products and consumer's ability to substitute cheaper goods for goods that are now more expensive.

David E. Weinstein from Columbia University will present and Henry Olsen from AEI will moderate. Panelists are -
