The South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA) presents a program on Looking Ahead - What the US Election Results MEan for South Asia and South Asians in America. The panel will be moderated by Arun Venugopal from WNYC Radio and SAJAforum editor and Sree Sreenivasan, SAJA co-founder and professor at Columbia Journalism School.

Panelists are:

- Asif Alam - President of the Association of Pakistani Professionals

- Toby Chaudhuri - Democratic strategist

- Stephen Cohen - senior fellow at the Brookings Institution

- Aparisim "Bobby" Ghosh - world editor and former Baghdad bureau chief, Time

- Aziz Haniffa - Washington correspondent and editor, India Abroad/Rediff

- Deepa Iyer - executive director, South Asian American Leading Together (SAALT) and representing the National Coalition of South Asian Organizations

- S. Mitra Kalita - upcoming (January 2009) deputy global economics editor of The Wall Street Journal, current national editor and columnist at Mint, a business daily based in New Delhi, author of "Suburban Sahibs: Three immigrant families and their passage from India to America" (participating from Delhi)

- Mira Kamdar - senior fellow at the World Policy Institute and author of "Planet India: The Turbulent Rise of the Largest Democracy and the Future of Our World" (participating from Paris, France)

- Kathy Kulkarni - president of IALI (Indian-American Leadership Initiative), a network of progressives and Democrats

- Professor Phil Oldenburg - research scholar at Columbia's Southern Asian Institute and co-editor of the "India Briefing" series

- Sanjay Puri - executive director of USINPAC (bipartisan political action committee representing the Indian American community)

- Kishan Putta - founder of Indians for McCain
