The United Nations in New York, NY holds an Interactive Panel of the General Assembly on the Global Financial Crisis. The goal of this session is to give UN Member States a chance to interact with a panel of economists and sociologists to help place the current economic crisis in a larger macroeconomic and social context.

The panel will include (times in ET):

3:00 - 3:20 pm - Dr. Pedro Páez from Ecuador

3:20 - 3:40 pm - Professor Calestous Juma from Kenya

3:40 - 4:00 pm - Dr. François Houtart from Belgium

4:00 - 5:00 pm - exchange of points of views, comments, and opinions by Member States

5:00 - 5:45 pm - 15 minute final responses by the 3 panelists

5:45 - 6:00 pm - cosing remarks by the President of the General Assembly
