Speakers in this session are:

Dr. Jay Parkinson -
Dr. Parkinson operates the practice called Hello Health. His practice embraces technology such as webcams and iPhones but he also does not shy away from house calls. Hello Health provides care to patients whether or not they are insured.

Stephen Badylak -
Stephen, together with his colleagues, discovered a way to make a substitute for blood vessels using small intestine material from pigs. He calls this "Mother Nature's scaffold for wound healing." Stephen is president elect of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society. He has also chaired several study sections for the National Institutes of Health. He holds over 200 patents and has been published over 180 times in scientific publications. Awards that he has received include the Sigma Xi Scientific Society 2002 Research Award, the 2005 Clemson Award by the Society for Biomaterials, the 2005 Carnegie Science Center Award for Excellence, and the 2008 Chancellors Distinguished Research Award.

Juan Enriquez -
Juan is chairman and CEO of Biotechonomy LLC, a research and investment firm for life sciences. Juan has been published in the Harvard Business Review and wrote the bestseller As the Future Catches You: How Genomics & Other Forces are Changing Your Life, Work, Health & Wealth. Fortune has called Juan "Mr. Gene." Together with Craig Venter, who sequenced the human genome, Juan discovered a number of new species during an around-the-world sailing trip.

Van Jones
Van is co-founder and Executive Director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights. The center works to promote alternatives to violence and incarceration. Van is also an advocate for the environment and is a civil rights and human rights activist. He graduated from Yale Law School and received the Rockefeller Foundation Next Generation Leadership Fellowship.
