This session from the Pop!Tech Conference in Camden, ME focuses on Pathways to Peace. This session will include fellows N. Taylor Thompson, Nathan Sigworth, and Heather Fleming. The session will also have a performance by singer-songwriter Amos Lee. Amos blends folk, soul, and jazz and has toured with Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Norah Jones and Paul Simon.

Dr. Gary Slutkin - Dr. Slutkin is Executive Director of Ceasefire Chicago, a group dedicated to reducing gun violence in Chicago neighborhoods. He is also a professor of epidemiology and international health at the University of Illinois, Chicago, School of Public Health. Dr. Slutkin's training is in infectious disease control and reversing epidemics. He has worked to control disease outbreaks such as tuberculosis, cholera, and AIDS in over 20 countries. Dr. Slutkin graduated from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
Laura Waters Hinson - Ms. Hinson was the Director and Executive Producer of the 2008 documentary, As We Forgive. This film about Rwanda's reconciliation movement won a 2008 Student Academy Award. The film explores how tens of thousands of Rwandans are being released back into communities that they helped to destroy. It has been presented to Congress, the State Department, Library of Congress, World Bank, and universities and other institutions. She also launched Living Bricks, a multi-media campaign that support reconciliation efforts in Rwanda. Ms. Hinson also worked on a documentary about the lives of female U.S. Senators, entitled 14 Women.
