The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C. presents Giving the Courts Green Teeth: Current Developments in Environmental Enforcement in China. The panel will discuss how enforcement is one of the most critical issues regarding successful implementation of China's environmental laws.

Speakers at the event are:

- Tseming Yang - Vermont Law School
Tseming Yang will discuss the Vermont Law School/Sun Yat-sen University Partnership. One of the partnership's main objectives is to help create an environmental bar to enhance the implementation and enforcement of environmental law. The partnership is also working to train environmental lawyers, judges, and government officials.

- Jingjing Liu - Vermont Law School
Jingjing Liu will discuss China's recently enacted Water Pollution Control Act, including public interest litigation, class action, and enhanced penalties provisions.

- Zhiping Li - Environmental Resource and Energy Law Research Center of Sun Yat-sen University Law School
Zhiping Li will discuss recently created environmental courts in China.
