The Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. presents "Continuing the Dream of Dr. King," a celebration on Martin Luther King, Jr., Day featuring young people from the Washington, D.C. area. Washington National Cathedral was the site of Dr. King's last Sunday sermon. The joyful celebration will be led by multi-media artist and educator Bomani Armah, who will also perform. The celebration will also feature performances by Urban Nation H.I.P.-H.O.P. Choir, Hueman Prophets, Que-Que Avilez, Chris August, and D. Tokia "2 Deep" Carter.

Construction for the Washington National Cathedral began in 1907 at a ceremony attended by President Theodore Roosevelt. The cathedral was finished in 1990 in the presence of President H. W. Bush. It is the second largest Gothic cathedral in the United States.
