Sallama Shaker, presents Yale Divinity School's 2009 Margaret Lindquist Sorensen Lecture entitled "We Came a Long Way," about challenges facing Arab women.  She will discuss how education and learning can help build bridges between religions and cultures and help to prevent stereotypes.  

Sallama Shaker has served as a consultant for the World Bank and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.  She has also served as a senior associate at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C.  Her interests include women in Islam, conflict resolution, power politics and liberation movements, and more.</description>
