Construction for the Washington National Cathedral began in 1907 at a ceremony attended by President Theodore Roosevelt. The cathedral was finished in 1990 in the presence of President H. W. Bush. It is the second largest Gothic cathedral in the United States.</description>

The Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center offers free daily performances. The program includes a range of art forms, with performing artists and groups from all 50 states as well as an Artist-in-Residence program with artists performing several evenings in a month.

The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. opened in 1971. The center makes every effort to fulfill President Kennedy's vision to producing and presenting a wide array of theater and musicals, dance and ballet, orchestral, chamber, jazz, popular, and folk music, and multi-media performances.
